CMM Epicenter is a new initiative focused on epigenetic mechanisms, which often plays a major role in the diseases studied at CMM. A new 2 micron array scanner from Nimblegen has been installed for genome wide methylation analyses and the initial tests have been performed with promising results. CMM Epicenter will be collaborating closely with Andy Feinberg’s lab at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA. During spring, CMM reserachers will be visiting his labs to be trained in CHARM...

On Thursday February 18 a brand new coffee machine will be installed next to the coca cola machine on floor 00. Welcome to taste a cup of newly brewed coffee, with or without fresh milk, between 14:00 and 16:00. To celebrate this occasion the coffee will be free of charge, and our coffee machine supplier will bring some cakes. He will also be available to answer any coffee related question that you may have. CMM welcomes two new reserach groups: Professor John Pernow has become Group Leader for the Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Unit , consisting of two research teams, lead by Professor Pernow and Professor Anders Franco-Cereceda respectively. This unit sprung from the Cardiovascular Surgery and Cardiology Laboratory, headed by Professor Ulf Hedin. BC Platforms Ltd announces a multi-year partnership to enhance clinical and genetic research data management and analysis at the Center for Molecular Medicine at Karolinska Institutet (CMM). BC Platforms will implement their BC|Enterprise Research Database Platform in to the existing CMM IT infrastructure.
