NKT cells in atherosclerosis

Molecular biologist. Running the functional genomics within the Cardiovascular Research unit together with Anders Gabrielsen. Member of steering group for the BiKE  project (Biobank of Karolinska Carotid Endarterectomy), a collaboration with vascular surgery (Ulf Hedin). Main research areas: 1. Identify link(s) between local and systemic inflammatory response in patients with unstable plaque. 2. Elucidate the role of lipid-induced immune processes linked to atherosclerosis, specifically activation of CD1d restricted NKT cells.
