Molecular Immunogenetics
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease with strong genetic basis. Its incidence is high in Sweden. The group’s main interest is to understand the role of immunogenetic factors, especially the structural and functional aspects of the genes, in the etiology of the disease and find ways to predict the disease.
