Description:

This facility will primarily not be organized as a full customer service, but rather provide expertise and a technical platform for implementing clinical/research questions in tight conjunction with researchers at KI/KS.

The core shall provide comprehensive expertise and guideance for clinical and basic researchers who want to perform DNA-methylation analyses on their clinical samples as well as on animal model and culture systems. The platform includes genomewide profiling by the CHARM technology using a custom made Nimblegene genomic tiling array. Data handling will be performed using the genome wheighted smoothing as described by R. A. Irizarry et al., Genome Res. 2008 18:780–790.  In addition, selected validation analyses will be available using bisulfite pyrosequencing (Biotage/Qiagen) as well as real-time qPCR analysis of selected genes.
