Speaker: Anders Etzerodt, PhD, Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University, Aarhus, Denmark

Title: Targeting macrophage heterogeneity in tumor development

Location: CMM Lecture Hall – Visionsgatan 18, Ground floor

Bio: Anders Etzerodt is Associate Professor at Aarhus University where he leads a group focusing on macrophage biology, the tumor microenvironment and immunotherapy. He has worked extensively on tumor-associated macrophages, has defined novel subsets of CD163+ macrophages in the tumor microenvironment that maintain immune suppression and promote metastasis and has developed new tools to selective target them for cancer treatment.

Selected publications:

Specific targeting of CD163+ TAMs mobilizes inflammatory monocytes and promotes T cell-mediated tumor regression

Tissue-resident macrophages in omentum promote metastatic spread of ovarian cancer
