We congratulate Associate Professor and CMM Team Leader Qiaolin Deng who received a SFO grant of SEK 1 000 000 for the single-cell technology core for which she is the main scientific advisor together with Associate Professor Eduardo Villablanca, Group Leader at CMM. Peri Noori is the technical responsible person for the single cell core facility.
The Swedish government is funding research in certain selected areas, called Strategic Research Areas (SFO, Strategiska Forskningsområden). Within the different research areas, a proportion of the funding sum can be used to develop and make accessible to the KI community technologies of relevance for the research field. Qiaolin was granted funding from the area of stem cell biology and regenerative medicine at KI in order to develop this technological infrastructure provided by the single-cell core facility at CMM.
The core at CMM provides a fully automated sequencing library preparation pipeline currently using the following equipment:
- 10X Chromium Single Cell Controller for barcoded single-cell library construction
- Tecan Fluent 780 and Formulatrix Mantis Nano Dispenser liquid handling robots for genomic workflows
- Agilent Bioanalyzer for sample quality control
- Pippin Gel Extraction Prep System for DNA Size Selection of PCR fragments and NGS, 100bp – 1.5kb.
