Allergy

Allergy

Allergy is the most common chronic illness in society affecting more than 25% of the population in industrialized countries. Allergy is caused by an inappropriate immune reaction towards environmental exposure of e.g. furred animals, pollen, dust mites or food components, which may lead to asthma, rhinitis or eczema.

Our major research effort is focused on development of new strategies for improved allergy and asthma diagnosis and treatments, targeting the cause of the disease rather than just ameliorating the symptoms.
