Add and Remove Users from a Security Group in Active Directory

Add and Remove Users from a Security Group in Active Directory

This guide only applies for people using Windows. Only people who are responsible for one or several resource(s) can add or remove users to a group. If you add a person to a group, this person will be able to book the selected resource(s)

You can always see a visual explanation of the steps by looking at the picture below each instruction.

First you need to install the tools needed to perform the action, you only have to do this ones.

1. Double Click the Software Center icon on your Desktop.

2. In the right corner of Software Center, search for Remote Server Administration Tools.

3. Click on the icon.

1. Click Install and wait for the program to get installed.

1. Click the start menu down in the left corner and search for Active Directory Administrative Center.

2. Press enter or click the icon to start the program.

1. Down in the right corner in Active Directory, search for Booking System.

1. Double click the organizational unit named Booking system.

1. Double click the organizational unit named as the resource you want to manage, in this example I'm using Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer.

1. Double click the group named as the resource you want to manage. Make sure it's the group ending with "Authorized Users". In this example: Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer Authorized Users. Members of this group will be allowed to book the instrument Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer.

1. Scroll down a little bit to "Members" and click on the button named Add.

2. Type the name of the person you want to add. You can click on "check names" if you want the system to help you find the correct person.

3. Click OK.

4. Click OK one more time down in the right corner to confirm.

That's it. Now you have added a new member to the group.

If you want to remove a user from a group, do like this:
